The 6th Annual Rogue Gathering, Sept 6-7

Longboarders will Gather once again this September at Newport's South Beach State Park. Registration for this year’s contest is already underway with a limited amount of spots. It will be a
larger Gathering of the Tribes so be sure to register quickly. There will be no beach entries! Deadline for registration is August 20th, NO EXCEPTIONS.Click here for the registration form (2pg PDF). Print, complete and mail to the address on the form.

 

The SOLV Great Oregon Fall Beach Cleanup

The next SOLV Great Oregon Fall Beach Cleanup will take place on September 20, 2008 from 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. Choose one of over 40 beach sites to volunteer and help clear the entire Oregon coast of debris. For more info, check solv.org.

The Oregon Beach Monitoring Program (OBMP) monitors the waters along Oregon's coastline for the presence of fecal bacteria, and reports elevated levels to the public. For information on advisories, testing sites, and the program in general, follow this link.

Shark research along the Pacific coast

The Shark Research Committee is requesting the assistance of the Oregon surfing community in establishing a network of volunteers willing to report encounters, observed predatory events, and sightings of White Sharks.
